Playacar is easily accessible by a four-lane highway either by rental car or Riviera bus from the airport. Playa Del Carmen has a ferry service to the Island of Cozumel from the mainland (within walking distance from Fishermen's Village), which is an adventure in itself for divers and snorkelers with the world’s second largest reef. Fisherman’s Village is an easy taxi ride or a short and secure walk down the beach from the famous 5th Avenue in downtown area.
Sunset Fisherman's Cancun Spa & Resort has OPTIONAL meal package. There is a full restaurant and two bars on the premises as well as kitchenette and dining facilities in your room. I personally recommend visiting numerous cafes and restaurants on the 5th Avenue.
The resort is located directly on the beach. Boating, GOLF and a spa are also available. Playacar is a golfing gated community amongst Mayan Ruins and the tourist city of Playa Del Carmen with its many shops, budget to upscale restaurants, sidewalk cafes, magnificent golf courses and local entertainment. The Cancun Zona Hoteliera is about 40-45 minutes by bus or car.
All weeks are subject to availability. Please note that a lot of resorts in the Cancun area are still being repaired after the hurricanes and the demand still outpaces supply, so please reserve as early as possible! The reservations are on a first-come first-served basis and typically Fishermen's is booked about SIX MONTHS in advance.
The rooms are standard ONE bedroom suites each accomodating up to SIX people. All one-bedroom units have kitchenettes and--ready for this--jacuzzis/hot tubs on the balcony with a beach view!!! The regular price charged for this unit is approximately $1,600 per week.
The timeshare is also available for sale. I am the actual timeshare owner. I have four weeks a year each year. It's a gold (red) membership which lets you choose from 48 weeks a year (excludes Christmas, New Year's, Easter and Holy weeks). Can be exchanged through Sunset Group (for Sunset Lagoon, Sunset Royal, and now the brand new Tres Rios resort - some upgrade and/or all-inclusive fees may apply) or RCI for other weeks or resorts (RCI/other fees apply as appropriate). Includes the highly desirable Thanksgiving and President's Day weeks.
